Human + AI

How people think, learn and connect alongside AI, and what is at stake for human judgement, learning and relationships.

The thinking

Intelligence is more than the collection of facts or the mastery of modern tools. It is a conscious practice expressed through how we make decisions, how we relate to others, and how we choose to navigate our daily responsibilities.

My work on human-centred intelligence looks at the relationship between artificial intelligence, human judgement, critical thinking, creativity, learning and meaningful human connection.

Three questions

  1. Human agency

Decisions, responsibility and judgement in an AI-enabled world.

  2. Critical thinking

How AI-assisted work changes the way we reason, question and verify.

  3. Education

AI literacy for teachers, students and institutions, from classroom practice to new methods of assessment.

The Illusions of AI

A series on what AI changes in how we learn and connect.

  1. The Illusion of Learning

Research-grounded analysis of AI and learning, drawing on MIT work and contemporary research into AI-assisted cognition.

  2. The Illusion of Connection

The second instalment, on the social impact of AI and the risk of people replacing real human connection with AI.

Research, essays and publications

  1. The AI That Finally Came Full Circle for Learning

A perspective on Google's NotebookLM Video Overview feature, and what multimodal learning (visual, auditory, reading and writing, kinesthetic) means for education.

  2. Kini AI Update

A newsletter on AI adoption, tool reviews and learning for educators, EdTech practitioners and policymakers. More than 150 issues published.

More coming. Essays and publications will be added here as they are published.
